The British Ceramic Confederation is the industry lead body for UK ceramics manufacturers, representing the common and collective interests of all sectors, including tableware, refractories, bricks, tiles and sanitary ware and the suppliers of related materials. The Confederation's 150 member companies comprise over 90% of the industry's manufacturing capacity. The industry has annual sales of approximately £2.5 billion and employs over 40,000 people direct in manufacturing. The CRTC is one of eight sector trade associations which speak collectively through the BCC on matters of policy affecting ceramics manufacturing at a generic level.
